Barnstaple Town 0-4 Tiverton Town
The Yellows completed their away campaign with a comprehensive victory over their Devon neighbours,
goals from Michael and Levi Landricombe, Jamie Short and Tom Bath completed the rout in stoppage
time. The hosts would have been hoping for a better final home match of the season, especially with manager Barry Yeo taking charge of his final match at Mill Road and club captain Aaron Harper Penman playing his final home match for the club was given a straight red card for a stamp on Levi Landricombe in the second half to compound a miserable day.
Tom Bath had already produced a superb save from Steve Oliver in the Barnstaple goal and Jamie Short crashed an excellent volley off the frame of the goal before Miike Landricombe gave the Yellows the lead in spectacular fashion on 15 minutes. Tom Bath had miscontrolled Scott Rogers` through ball, and Mike Landricombe majestically strode onto it and smashed a superb long range effort from fully 25 yards over Oliver and in off the underside of the crossbar. The hosts had hardly ventured forward with any real purpose until right back Scott Huxtable flew forward and delivered a brilliant cross and with James Blake ready to pounce, captain Steve Kingdon headed clear.
Oliver did well again to turn behind Nick Hursts` deflected effort and Levi Landricombe shot just wide before half time from the resulting corner. Levi Landricombe doubled the visitors advantage 5 minutes into the second half as defenders stood waiting for an offside flag that was never coming, he coolly lobbed the advancing Oliver for league goal number 34. 2 became 3 8 minutes later as Jamie Short drilled low into the bottom corner and Tom Bath rubbed salt into gaping wounds, heading home from close range in the final minute, to send the fight for home advantage in the play off semi finals to the final day of the season.
