Plymouth Argyle Draw

A fantastic game of grass roots football that finished off with a very exciting 0-0 draw.
The hosts set out early with some fine movement around the pitch and excellent passing that you would expect from such a club, and we were put under early pressure as we came to terms with the pace and tempo that Argyle played at. Nevertheless, we have grown as a squad over the last few weeks, and we finally can look to settle a side now most holidays and injuries etc are done and dusted.
We grew into the game well, and after a slight change to a couple of positions, we found ourselves coping better and indeed forcing more of the majority of the Argyle attacks wide and backwards, which in turn forced mistakes for us to capitalise on. It was also by no means one way traffic, as we also controlled periods of the game and gave our hosts more than they were probably expecting to have to think about.
Both sides had some good chances, but good defensive and keeping displays ensured it stayed a deadlock to the end.
There was some excellent football played by both teams as a quick paced game never relented, and gave the crowd excitement right to the end. Both teams were a credit to the league and the way football should be played.
We now look forward to the weekend and a game away to St Martins from the East division in the League Cup, and no don’t it will be a tough encounter as always against a team that has made a decent start to their own league campaign, and will be looking to take a higher league scalp. COYY’s…
