Biography
Tiverton were one of the first beneficiaries of Truro City’s financial woes when Taylor made the switch from Treyew Road to Ladysmead in November 2011. But his career has been about much more than playing in local non-league football, as he was on the books of Manchester United as a youngster. He failed to secure a professional deal at Old Trafford, however, and moved to Northwich Victoria where he spent three seasons playing in the Football Conference.
In 2005 upon expiry of his contract he had a summer trial at Cheltenham Town but eventually signed for Exeter City, enjoying a three-year spell at St. James Park where he became club captain as City almost stunned his former club Manchester United in the FA Cup. He then joined Truro City as he also took up a position at Bath University studying a Sports Science degree, and his time in Cornwall was largely successful as he helped the White Tigers towards the Southern League title.
